TORAH
This is the beginning of our study on the very NOT boring book of Leviticus. Certainly, this book at first seems like a very boring do and do not lists because of our attitudes, however, if we give this third book in the Torah a chance, it can reveal to us amazing insight to many inserting topics. It is the most unread and most misunderstood book in the Christian community. I think no one likes this book is because Satan is trying to draw our attention away from it, he is always trying to attack this book, which means it is more important and should be the indicator for us to examine it. It is YHWH's code to holiness. It is at the heart of His Torah and that means this should be at the centre of our hearts where the Torah is inscribed.
Young Jewish children would beginning reading the Torah here in Leviticus and not Genesis.
In the Introduction to the Genesis VHC workbook, Rob Skiba wrote:
A Torah scroll contains 79,847 words and 304,805 letters. Many claim that there are “hidden codes” within these letters and words. For instance, in Hebrew, the word Torah is spelled with the consonants: hrwt (Tav-Vav-Resh-Hey). In the book of Genesis, if you find the first letter, t (Tav) and then begin reading from right to left, counting off 49 letters, the next (50th) letter is a w (Vav); then the next 50th letter is the r (Resh); and again, the next 50th letter is the h (Hey). Likewise, in Exodus, from the first letter, t (Tav) counting forward every 50th letter, it again spells “TORAH.” This same cycle is found in reverse (twrh) in the books of Numbers and Deuteronomy (but in this last book, the sequence is in a 49th letter interval, beginning from the fifth verse, which is where the rabbis reckoned the book of Deuteronomy really begins—after a brief introduction—with the words: On this side Jordan, in the land of Moab, began Moses to declare this law [Torah], saying...” ). In Leviticus, the book found at the center of the Torah’s five books (the one that outlines how we are to worship YHWH), we find that every 7th letter spells out God’s name, hwhy. Through this “hidden code,” YHWH appears to be showing us a picture: Torah, Torah -> YHWH <- haroT, haroT with Genesis and Exodus pointing to the God of Israel in Leviticus and Numbers and Deuteronomy pointing back to Him as well. This tells us that the Torah is very important to YHWH, as we seem to be seeing His finger literally all over this amazing collection of books, which He essentially dictated to Moses, face to face as one speaks with a friend (Exodus 33:11). The book of Leviticus has a hidden code that spells out the name of YHWH. It is the book that outlines the way we approach, worship and serve a holy God. The Hebrews understood this, which is why they “trained up a child in the way he should go” so that “when he is old, he will not depart from it.” as it says in Proverbs 22:6.
The Leviticus laws are pure and a child is pure. This is the reason why kids are to start learning to read their bible by reading the 3rd book in the Torah.
The Israelites had a system of education quite different from what we have today. It was essentially divided up into three different venues as follows (NOTE: The age ranges vary depending on the source you read on each):
1. Bet Sefer (House of the Book): Ages 4 - 10 - memorize Torah
2. Bet Talmud (House of Learning): Ages 10 - 13 - memorize Hebrew Scriptures (Joshua - Malachi)
3. Bet Midrash (House of Study): Ages 13 - 30 - discuss Scriptures and learn from a rabbi mentor
Traditionally Vayikra is said to contain 247 out of the 613 laws in the Torah.
The book is not about "the law of the Levities" as the Latin name suggests. In the Hebrew original language, it has nothing to do with the tribe of Levi, it means the calling upon YHWH's people. It is a misnomer. It is not just for Levities. It is guide for holiness and living in the presence of YHWH. Apparently, the Levities are dealt with in Numbers and not in this book.
This book has requirements for us as YHWH's called out people. He has:
Exodus is the calling out. Leviticus is what they have to do when they are called out. This is a picture of our lives as we come out of the world and from thinking like and world, we follow His guide to holiness.
To the pagan Greco-Roman mindset, the forces of the universe is beyond understanding. So they - dare i say - weakly turn to control the domain of the gods of earth and nature. The use of human logic is a dangerous way to demystify what they do not understand and like. This dangerous mindset we have all been raised is indicative to the pagan sacrificial paradigm used to to explain Yeshua's sacrifice. They see it as a once and for all sacrifice to just get YHWH to leave them alone, but to be pleased that their abomination have been already "atoned" for and delusioned into thinking that God loves them, even when they are passionately sinning in His face. If you are this type of person, then is suggest to succumb and open up to YHWH and cry for a new repentant spirit and for His forgiveness.
Leviticus instructs us on how we are to approach YHWH and inform us as to the nature of what has been done for us in the heavenly realm as pertains to our conscience.
There are three main fundamental levels sacrifices: the cleansing of the flesh, the cleansing of the conscience and the cleansing of the spirit.
Theses cleansing helps us stop defying ourselves. The sacrifices of bulls and goats cleanse the flesh. The sacrifice of Jesus cleanses the conscience.
The phrase "be holy as i am holy" comes from the book of Leviticus. In fact, the whole book of Leviticus tells us how to follow this statement. The phrase is literally all over the book. So what does holy truly mean?
Korbanot is Hebrew for sacrifices. But its definition is very unlike the English. It means one person approaching/drawing near to another. Note also as we read, each korbanot constitutes a mirror image on earth of a great accomplishment of our Kohen Gadol in Heaven.
In this parsha, 5 different sacrifices are laid out for us
1. Olah: A sacrifice to be burned on the altar, brought from cattle, goats, sheep, or birds.
2. Minchah: An offering of grain mixed with oil (and frankincense). Part was burned on the altar, and the priests consumed the remainder.
3. Shelamim: A peace offering, part of which was burned on the altar, the remainder eaten by the priest and the one who offered the sacrifice.
4. Chatat: A sin offering brought for accidental transgressions. The exact procedure was different for private individuals, public officials, and instances of communal guilt.
5. Asham: A guilt offering brought for specific sins.
The spiritual sacrifices bring us back into alignment with His spirit.
The animals sacrificed are all animals we can eat and are clean:

This book has requirements for us as YHWH's called out people. He has:
- Set us out for a special diet.
- Provides us with a whole new wardrobe of righteousness which we are to clothe ourselves.
- Details how we are to conduct ourselves in interpersonal relations as His representatives.
- Focus is on helping us, as His betrothed bride, to prepare for the wedding that we have been called for.
Exodus is the calling out. Leviticus is what they have to do when they are called out. This is a picture of our lives as we come out of the world and from thinking like and world, we follow His guide to holiness.

- Rams

- Billies
- Turtle doves (embarrassingly, the King James say turtles. LOL.)
- Pigeons
"Olah" = burnt offering is one of the oddest and the most common offerings in history. This was said to be Abel's offering. It is an acknowledgement of the sin nature and a request for renewed relationship with YHWH. This is freewill. The sacrifice of the animal or a bird must be with defect and is to be consumed by the fire. As the animal is slaughtered, the kohen (priest) catches the blood in a pan and sprinkles that on the altar. It was required for these brunt offerings to be a benefit for the Israelites as a whole. It is spelled Ayin - Lamed - Hey.
- Ayin = the eye, see, understand, reveal
- Lamed = teaching, authority, rod, tongue
- Hey = when used at the end of the word means, "what comes from"
The "burnt offering" (olah) means, "What comes from the understanding of (YHWH's) authority."
Sacrifices (or offering ourselves as spiritual sacrifices) must be given in the following. All of these pictures what is going on in the heavenly realm:
Grain is very important in ancient trade, so that means it is synonymous with material things. Sacrificing this acknowledges our dependence on Him. You still think this is done away with because it is in the Torah, consider this:
"A certain ruler asked him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” Jesus asked him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good, except one—God. You know the commandments: ‘Don’t commit adultery,’ ‘Don’t murder,’ ‘Don’t steal,’ ‘Don’t give false testimony,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’” He said, “I have observed all these things from my youth up.” When Jesus heard these things, he said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have, and distribute it to the poor. You will have treasure in heaven. Come, follow me.” But when he heard these things, he became very sad, for he was very rich. Jesus, seeing that he became very sad, said, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter into God’s Kingdom! For it is easier for a camel to enter in through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into God’s Kingdom.” Luke 18:18-25
The people needed these things. but YHWH is trying to show them that they do not need it, all they need to do is follow the Torah and do what YHWH says and He will give back. You would know if YHWH wants you to give something away if that thing is very important and costly to your life or others.
The peace offerings are freewill offerings, given as a way of expressing thanks to YHWH on joyous occasions. These are an expressions of thanks to YHWH for bringer shalom into our lives. It would be ideal if we did this to YHWH by praising Him everyday, especially on the Sabbath.
From http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Hebrew_Roots/Torah_observance/Vayikra:
All aspects of the ordained sacrifice are a prophetic shadow-picture of Messiah’s offering and what a believer must do in our relationship with Him. A lamb was offered twice daily (Ex. 28:38-42) picturing our need to come to our Father in Heaven each day through the shed blood of Yeshua and offer our lives afresh in thanks and praise to Him (Heb. 13:15; Rom. 12:1-2).
The significance of the various animal parts in Leviticus 3:
Just as we cannot eat pork and shellfish, we cannot eat animal fat or blood.
Sacrifices (or offering ourselves as spiritual sacrifices) must be given in the following. All of these pictures what is going on in the heavenly realm:
- Every morning and evening
- Each Saturday
- The beginning of each mouth on the new moon (Rosh Chodesh)
- At Passover
- With new grain/first fruits offering at the feats of weeks (Pentecost)
- At Yom Teruah (Feats of Trumpets)
To sacrifice something to God is indeed an act of faith.
The grain sacrifice was interesting because YHWH is asking for very available things from the Israelites. They could not grow grain, frankincense and olives for olive oil, they obviously were carrying some with them thinking they would use it for their own benefits. Once the Israleites make it to Canaan, all these goods will be gone so they will be trusting fully in YHWH and His harvest.
As the grain goes through the fire, we are refined in the refiner's fire to grow.
As the grain goes through the fire, we are refined in the refiner's fire to grow.
Both the burnt and grain sacrifices were to be of highest quality and required things without blemish and the very best of the flock.
Unleavened breads and cakes is important. It represents without sin. The unleavened bread was what Yeshua took and broke at Last Passover.
The mixing of unleavened flour and oil is the mixing of the Word and how it cleanses us from sin and false doctrines. The oil is also referring to the Garden of Gethsemane - the garden of the olive press.
The seasoning of slat on the unleavened oiled grain offering refers to us being the salt of the earth.
"Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you. “You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt has lost its flavor, with what will it be salted? It is then good for nothing, but to be cast out and trodden under the feet of men. You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill can’t be hidden." Matthew 5:12-14
Also, after Yeshua was beaten, He was chucked inside a dark prison or a salt pit where the salt persevered and worsened His pain - His amazing grace. If we followed this Covenant of Salt analogy, we, as the “salt of the earth” are to:
Prevent from growing those things that are against YHWH’s Torah. Corrode and ultimately destroy those things that are against YHWH’s Torah. Preserve those things that are of and for YHWH’s Torah.
Just as we cannot eat pork and shellfish, we cannot eat animal fat or blood.
We all have a tendency to be suspicious of, envious and critical of other people. YHWH says that we must forgive other or else He will not forgive us and we cannot be saved via Jesus. We need to work together in harmony as one body and as one mind.
Not forgiving someone is like drinking poison and expecting someone else to get sick. Forgiveness is not for the one that offended you, but it is for you. The person that offends you must say they are sorry and when you say "i forgive you," there is reconciliation and then peace. YHWH forgives us so He will then have to never remember them. I highly urge you to see what i reckon is the best video done by Rob Skiba where he explains that forgiveness is for God.

The sin offering is compulsory because we are not perfect and we all sin. It makes atonement for certain sins by an individual or individuals. This offering a punishment for doing intentional or unintentional sin.
When you give this offering you will not be forgiven by YHWH, it talks about you being forgiven as protains to earthly consequence.
There are different sacrifices for the individual, the priests, the leaders and the whole of Israel.
Those who are leaders will have sin consequences that are much greater.
"My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation." James 3:1
You do the sin offerings as it is already laid out by the peace offerings.
There is a difference form Israel to the assembly. The escaping of notice form the assembly means that the sin has gone unnoticed by the elders. If this is the case, the elder are the ones the take the blame.
However, if the elders do find out of the sin of the people, then they must make a sacrifice for the entirely of Israel.
If an average Joe sins, he must bring a billy goat without blemsih, or a female lamb without blemish.
The laying on of hands on the animal's head and placing the sins into it paints a perfect image of Yeshua.
When we sin, we need to run to the throne of grace and submit to Him instead of trying to hide with shame. Run to Him and be cleansed.
Nothing can break us apart from YHWH. Sin does not have to sever the relationship between us and YHWH. We can be repentant because we seek after His will. Do not use Jesus' sacrifice as an excuse to sin!
Chata (sin) is nothing to do with the Western definition of evil. Chata is a verb meaning to aim at but miss the target. you need to be in covenant first so you can be attempting to hit the target. It is like speaking and acting in an unrighteous manner or failing to speak or to think as the bride which we have become.
A person can be guilty before YHWH without sinning intentionally. Nevertheless you are required to give a guilt offering.
If you have done some intentional sin, restitution must be made. These are YHWH's mistapim - His justice.
The guilt offering points to Yeshua:
"Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for guilt, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand." Isaiah 53:10
We need to learn not to deny our guilt and justify our sin. If do not submit to Him fully, we will not recognise our guilt fully.
The discouraging aspect is that the sin is not necessarily in others, but that we see it in ourselves. We may reach a level of outright despair because, everywhere we turn, every angel we view ourselves from, we see little deceits. I almost feel like this most days.
Our discouragement can turn to encouragement because, even though we perceive the corruption within ourselves, our ability to discern it more clearly is evidence of our growth. I am speaking to myself here, for us to first overcome sin and grow, we must be aware that there is corruption.
Sin is like cancer, most time visible and silent but its outcomes are are deadly. It may also seem appealing.
There is no sacrifice for intentional sin only repentance.
It is not Ha'Satna's fault when we are tempted. He is still going to deceive, it is our choice with we are going to take the desirable path to sin or follow YHWH.
When we began overcome and grow in holiness, life would eventually become more easier for us.
Here's something for yah. The very Catholic Lord's prayer contains all the Torah sacrifices in it!

- The sin offering = And lead us not into temptation.
- The guilt offering = But deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
How good would it be if we sacrifice ourselves for God, because each time when a sacrifice was done, it gives off a sweet smelling aroma to God. He loves it. YHWH finds no pleasure us in anguish. The sacrifices were meant to be something positive.
PROPHETS AND NEW TESTAMENT
Did Yeshua contradict His Father? The Prophets portion we read included:
"Those who sanctify and purify themselves to go to the gardens,
Following one in the center, Who eat swine’s flesh, detestable things and mice, Will come to an end altogether,” declares the Lord."
So did Yeshua declare all foods (meats such as swine) clean, thus making something "good" that YHWH says is "detestable"? Some English translations of the Bible would have us believe He did.
Note this analysis is form Rob Skiba. He has some great insight here.

Uses sacrificial language used here refers that Yeshua has fulfilled the sacrifices which was a picture in the physical of the spiritual realm.
It is unholy to worship other gods and is in completely opposition to the holiness of Leviticus.
In the New Jerusalem, we will be like Priests and Levities.
Walking in the spirit is what the Book of Leviticus is about.
The Torah is a image or a shadow of the things to come and if that shadow is abolished, God does not have a plan. The sacrifice of Yeshua is a conscience sacrifice that is only done once because it truly cleanses. The fleshy sacrifices are to be done in multiple times so they can be in memory of the sin we have committed. They do not atone for sin. They cleans the flesh form uncleanness.
Paul says the Torah will be on our hearts. How is something that we desire to do become burden?
